Oscar - Adoption Pending
Shih Tzu Cross Lhasa Apso, Beige and Black, Neutered Male
Young Adult, (Approximately 2 years old)
Mr. Oscar has had a rough start to his life. He has just not been able to find the family he fits in with! Oscar has been surrendered to the shelter for lack of a good match! It is VERY important to the staff at the shelter that we find him the right match that will last his whole life long!
Oscar requires a home without children or other animals. He didn't like other animals in his previous home but has become more accepting while in shelter. He is not suitable for children as he really needs an owner who is not going to let him get away with everything and will provide him with discipline and rules. For example he needs to know that the couch and the bed are not his domain. That his owner is the boss.. all be it a fair and loving boss. He sometimes uses his mouth inappropriately and does a mouthing or nippy behavior. He needs his new owner to let him know that this is not acceptable behavior. When handled by dog experienced handler such as the staff in shelter he is very well behaved and learns quickly. he is smart and wants to be provided with boundaries and direction. All that being said he is also affectionate and playful. He is more often than not a very good boy and really fun!
He is making leaps and bounds in the right direction! Though he still needs an educated owner that can help his young and malleable mind continue down the right path!
